Junior General English Language Courses

Junior General English Language Courses at Excalibur Language School cater for children aged from 7-18 who would like to learn English or to improve their ability/skills in English.

At enrollment, following a diagnostic test, the applicant is placed into a tentative group appropriate in terms of age and language competence in order to form a fairly homogeneous class.

To ensure that learning is as efficient as possible the number of participants in a course is limited to a maximum of 8.

Our Competency-Based Programme involves four levels done in 9 courses. The first level is divided into three courses: Novice-Low, Novice-Mid and Novice-High; the second into also three courses: Intermediate-Low, Intermediate-Mid and Intermediate-High; the third level is covered only partially by the Independent course.

Senior General English

Senior General English Language Courses at Excalibur Language School cater for adults who would like to learn English or to improve their ability/skills in English.

At enrollment, following a diagnostic test, the applicant is placed into a tentative group appropriate in terms of language competence in order to form a fairly homogeneous class.
To ensure that learning is as efficient as possible the number of senior learners in a course is limited to a maximum of 8.

The Common European Framework of Reference six levels are done in 7 courses. The first three levels of Breakthrough, Waystage and Threshold, and partially the Vantage level, are covered by the following four courses in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference of the Council of Europe A1, A2, B1 and B2.

Exam Preparation Courses (Seniors)

Senior Exam Preparation Courses at Excalibur Language School cater for adults who would like to learn English and to pass the Cambridge CEA Exams. At enrollment, following a diagnostic test, the applicant is placed into a tentative group appropriate in terms of language competence in order to form a fairly homogeneous class.

To ensure that learning is as efficient as possible the number of senior learners in a course is limited to a maximum of 8.

The Common European Framework of Reference three levels of Vantage, Effectiveness and Mastery correspond to the Preparation courses for three Cambridge English – First, Advanced and Proficiency, respectively.

English for Specific Purposes

Senior English for Specific Purposes at Excalibur Language School cater for adult intermediate students who need English in their studies or will soon need it in their work, as well as for professionals whose work brings them into contact with the world of international professional communication.

At enrollment, following a diagnostic test, the applicant is placed into a group appropriate in terms of language competence. To ensure that learning is as efficient as possible the number of senior learners in a course is limited to a maximum of 8. In their concept, the ESP courses at Excalibur Language School draw on the insights of the communicative approach in language learning, with emphasis on developing communication skills, interaction between student and their active involvement in performing the tasks. Some of the principles underlying this approach and some practical guidelines are outlined below.
